Hiking

Sirrako-Potami Chrousias-Kalarrytes

Degree of difficulty: Easy hiking route. Μπορούν να συμμετέχουν και αρχάριοι. Διάρκεια: 1-1:30 ώρες. (calculate the return as well). Altitude gradient: -300, +200 meters. From the moment you reach the starting point the course is crisp and clear. The route is steep but by no means impassable. In most places it is paved with stone and there are safety bars.

Agios Georgios-Kuiasas Bridge-Moni Kipina

Degree of difficulty: Easy hiking route. Beginners can also participate. Duration: 1-1:30 hours. (also calculate the return). Altitude gradient: -400 meters. The course is downhill and passes through the forest of Panza. The path is paved and dirt. After the Kouiasas bridge it is asphalt until the monastery. You can ask for the key to the monastery from the coffee shop in the village of Kipina, which is located a little further on.

Sirrako-Pouliana-Kouiasas Bridge-Kalarrytes

Degree of difficulty: Easy hiking route. Beginners can also participate. Duration: 2-2:30 hours. (also calculate the return). Altitude gradient: -370 + 300 meters. The course is downhill and passes through the forest of Panza. The path is paved and dirt. After the Kouyasas bridge, follow the path that leads to the stairs of Kalarrita and to the center of the village.

Sirrako-Chrousia River-Kalarrytes-Syrrako-Chrousia Springs

Degree of difficulty: Easy hiking route. Beginners can also participate. Duration: 2-2:30 hours. (also calculate the return). Altitude gradient: +100 meters.

Sirrako-Kalarrytes-Matsouki

Degree of difficulty: Moderate hiking route. Duration: 3-3:30 hours. (also calculate the return). Altitude gradient: -300, +200, -400, +300 meters. The Sirrako-Kalarrytes route is the same as above and from there it continues to the village of Matsouki. A route for more demanding hikers that will compensate you with the beauty of the landscape. You can also visit the Vyliza Monastery, which is located just outside of Matsouki.

Συρράκο-Εκκλησάκι Αγίων Αποστόλων-Sirrako-Church of the Holy Apostles-Koryphi Priza

Degree of difficulty: Moderate hiking route. Duration: 3-3:30 hours. (also calculate the return). Altitude: +550 (up to Agios Apostolis), +300 meters. The route is in some places a dirt path and in others a dirt road. Before the chapel there is a spring with drinking water. Alternatively, you can climb the other peaks of Mount Lakmos. The highest of them is Tsoukarela (altitude 2294 m.) in the center of the mountain complex. The rest of the peaks spread out circularly from it. To the north, Kalogiros (2102 m.) and Giannaki (2184 m.). To the east is Stakokala (2045 m.). To the west, Priza (2047 m.) and Gurasa (2185 m.). South the Pyramid (2144 m.) and Megas Trapos (2240 m.). Winter conditions: This mountain is suitable for winter hikes with appropriate equipment and ski mountaineering. Dangers: As in all mountains in Greece, the main danger is the sheepdogs. Therefore, avoid approaching stables and herds of animals.

Rafting-Kayak

Arachthos 1: Harokopio Bridge (Tsimbavo)-Plaka Bridge. Duration: 3.30 hours. Difficulty level: IV w.w. Rafting route for experienced.

Arachthos 2: Ampelohori Bridge (Politsa)-Plaka Bridge. Duration: 2 hours. Difficulty level: III w.w. Rafting route with no previous experience necessary.

Bear 3: Plaka Bridge-Broom Bridge. Duration: 2 hours. Difficulty level: III w.w. Rafting route with no previous experience necessary.

Kalarritikos: Mihalitsi Bridge-Plakas Bridge. Duration: 3 to 3.30 hours. Degree of difficulty: III w.w.-IV w.w. Completely technical rafting route for experienced people

Canyoning

Degree of difficulty: Moderate difficulty for people with moderate physical condition, knowledge of swimming, to be able to jump from a height of 2 meters into the water and to be able to carry a backpack with their personal equipment.Duration: 4-4:30 hours. Entrance after entering the village and under the first stone bridge we meet. There are 7 rappels and some smaller ones that become jumps and slides. The largest waterfall is 50 meters with a secured traverse at its access. It is located approximately in the middle of the canyon. The canyon starts with small rappels and generally they do not exceed 15 meters. Exit at Chrousia and climb from the right bank to the small bridge that connects Sirrakos with Kalarrites and we continue on the paved uphill path to Sirrakos.

Gate of Paradise:

Degree of difficulty: Moderate difficulty for people with moderate physical condition, knowledge of swimming, to be able to jump from a height of 2 meters into the water and to be able to carry a backpack with their personal equipment. Duration: 6 hours. + 1-1:30 hours of hiking. This is the most impressive gorge of Tzoumerka and one of the most beautiful in Greece. Its entrance is before Kalarrites and the exit is at Kipina Monastery. It joins with Chrousia at the beginnings of the Kalarritikos river. The locals call it Karlibou and it has a fair amount of water. After 15 minutes of walking in its bed, the descents begin, eight in number, three of which are jumps. Another descent has been added before the end due to a landslide. At the end meeting Kalarritiko you can go left to the Kipinas Monastery or right against the river and after a 1:30 hour climb you can go out on the iron bridge to Kalarrites.
