Church of St. Nicholas
Built in the center of the settlement by the first Syracuses, after finding the icon of the Saint in the Goura spring. In 1821 the Turks looted all
integrally the temple. The church was restored by the Syracuses themselves who voluntarily carried the stones and marbles from the mountains and only paid the daily wages of the masons. The completion of the temple was completed in 1888. It is the largest building thus honoring the patron saint of the village. Its characteristics are perfection, harmony and beauty. The octagonal dome at the top, the silver polycandelas, the carved wooden shrines and the Despotic throne inside emphasize the grandeur of the temple and flood the worshipers with reverence.
Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin
A temple of high architectural spirit that impresses with the arched gate, the stone pillars that support the roof, the high bell tower with mastoid ornaments, the three arches and the bells. Its characteristic feature is the all-round dome with small square windows. The church was not destroyed in 1821. However, it suffered material damage during the earthquake of May 1, 1967. The celebration takes place on August 15.
Prophet Ilias Monastery
It is located at the northern end of the settlement, surrounded by centuries-old oak and holly trees. Before 1821, several nuns lived in the temple. During the revolution, the monastery was looted and the bell that had been built in Venice as a gift of the Syracuse merchant I.Zambrakas was stolen. Today, the church after its restoration is quite large, cruciform, Byzantine style with a simple construction of the despotic throne and the holy icon. The celebration takes place on July 20.
Church of Agios Georgios
The chapel was built by Syrrakiites and Kalarritiotes together, designating Saint George as the patron saint of their army. The chapel is small, single-aisled and without a dome. It is built at a distance of 5 kilometers opposite the village at an altitude of 1,286m. The well-known “mule road” ended there. Around the temple there were a cistern and an oven serving the needs of travelers who used the temple as a shelter from bad weather. However, it was demolished by the Turks and restored at the end of the Greek Revolution. Today, it bears a square high spire with a large bell. Behind the holy podium is the tomb and the bust of the great benefactor Spyridon Baltatzis. His celebration takes place on April 23.
Church of the Holy Apostles
Small church in the beautiful location of the neck between Priza and Frigourasa. It is sunk into the ground to protect it from strong winds and only its roof protrudes from the surface. It is characterized by the austerity of the interior space since it was built as a prayer room and shelter for shepherds. It has a wonderful view overlooking Lake Pamvotida and the city of Ioannina. His celebration takes place on June 30.
Chapel of Agia Paraskevi
A few years ago the village also acquired the small chapel of Agia Paraskevi. It was built in the garden of the traditional house (museum) of K. Avdikos by Ermineia Fotiadou in 1997. The dimensions of the church are very small. The building is perfectly adapted to its architectural aesthetics Syracuse. All stone and well made.
